1. This project includes 4 data sets --- BXAnewMB.csv (merged by two separated data sets of female and male mice in BxA cross by author Ioannis Stylianou), Ch3newMB.csv, Ch8newMB.csv and Ch11newMB.csv (chromosome substitution strains). The maps of those files have been updated individually and the new data files were saved as "Stylianou2006b_BxA_B37_Data.csv", "Stylianou2006c_CSS3_B37_Data.csv", "Stylianou2006d_CSS8_B37_Data.csv" and "Stylianou2006e_CSS11_B37_Data.csv". These files are ready to be read into Rqtl. This is the readme file of chromosome 8 substitution intercross; 2. Generate a description file of the project, it includes the general information, definitions of the phenotypes, description of the genotypes and information of the missing markers; 3. For the genotypes of this cross: (cM=centimorgan, bp=basepair) (1) It only has genotype values of chromosome 8; (2) Marker "D11Mit35" misses bp position in both Cox map and MGI database. Primer sequences found in MGI, and their locations identified using primer-BLAST in NCBI followed by UCSC In-Silico PCR (it is highlighted with green color in description file); (3) The bp position of marker "D11Mit126" is missed in both Cox map and MGI. Primer sequences found in MGI, but their locations don't match the result from primer-BLAST in NCBI. We could not identify the B37 bp position of this marker currently (the letters are highlighted with pink color in description file); 4. For the phenotypes of the cross: (1) This data file has 200 female and male mice; (2) Could not find the mouse age at testing in the paper; 5. Except the "csv" file mentioned above, I also saved the description file, original data, data with B37 map and data process together as a big excel file ("Data_Description_CSS11_Stylianou2006e.xlsx") (first curating work finished at 6/18/2009, files were updated at 7/7/2009, 8/5/2010, 2/8/2011). 6. Information were updated on 5/25/2012: Change the name of the map (from "Shifman" to "Cox" map) in description and readme file, add a map reference in description file.
